Video not showing
Work through these in order.
The video panel shows an error
The error appears in red under the Open video button. Read it: it often names the problem, such as a file that can't be found.
- The file moved. If the panel offers "Match video:" with a file that's no longer there, click Another… and pick it where it is now.
- The file type isn't offered. The open dialog lists
.mp4,.mov,.m4v,.mkv,.avi,.mts,.m2ts,.webmand.tsfiles. Convert other formats to.mp4first.
Nothing plays at all
Video playback comes inside Courtside, so there's nothing to install for it. If no video plays, quit Courtside, open it again and try a file you know plays elsewhere. If that one doesn't play either, reinstall Courtside from the installer (see Installing Courtside).
The video disappears
- A menu or dialog is open. The video hides under menus and dialogs, such as the code log's right-click menu or the match roster, and comes back when they close.
- You're on the lineup screen or the main menu. The video comes back, where you left it, when you return to the console.
The keys don't move the video
The video keys only work with a video open. Check that they haven't been changed in Settings → Keys, and that the cursor isn't in a box where the key types instead (only keys with Alt or Ctrl work on the command line).
Codes don't line up with the video
Use Sync on the first serve. See Video times and sync.
On Windows or Linux
Video has been tried most on macOS so far. On Linux with Wayland, Courtside's video needs the X11 back end: start Courtside with GDK_BACKEND=x11 set.
If none of this helps, use Report a problem: say what you see and the video's file type.
